How to sign documents using DocuSign

How to sign DocuSign is a safe, easy, and secure method of signing documents electronically. Please see below steps and screenshots to help you sign a document.

NOTE: To make the process easier, we recommend using the suggested by DocuSign initials and signature instead of creating your own, as doing so is unnecessary and can complicate things.  Thank you.

Note: if 2 or more people need to sign the document then one will receive a DocuSign email first and after they finish the next one will receive a similar email to complete their part and so on.

Step1:

  • You will receive an email with “Please DocuSign…” in the subject line.
  • Click on “Review document” to open.

Step 2:

  • You will need to accept the checkbox on the left-hand side of the document giving the program permission to use your signature.
  • Check this box and then click “Continue” in yellow on the right-hand side.

Step 3:

  • There will be a button saying “start” in yellow on the left-hand side.
  • Click this to begin.
  • Then it will change to say “next” to direct you to where you need to sign.

Step 4:

  • The boxes in red are for you to type into. In this case, a phone number and name are required.
  • Continue clicking “next” to see what needs to be completed, click into each red box and freetype.

Step 5:

  • Once you get to the signature or initial section, Click where it says “sign here” or ” initial here” and the following box will pop up.
  • The section will auto-populate with your name and a basic signature.  We suggest you simply use these auto-suggested initials and signature.  Alternatively, you can click on “draw” to bring another tab open and use your mouse to draw a signature as shown in the 2nd screenshot however, this is unnecessary.
  • Once you are happy, click “Adopt Signature” at the bottom.  Do this step for both initial and signature.
  • If you have multiple places to sign or initial, you can now just click on “sign here” and your chosen signature will populate.

Step 7:

  • Once completed, click “Finish” in yellow at the bottom of the document and the following box will appear.
  • Click on “No thanks” at the bottom in grey – you do not need to make an account.

Step 8:

  • The following screen will appear as confirmation.
  • You can close the webpage now as both the sender and receiver will get an email automatically with the completed document.

We hope this information was helpful in guiding you through DocuSign.
